Coon Rapids United Methodist Church Wedding Information and Guidelines Weddings at Coon Rapids United Methodist Church (CRUMC) are worship services, with a focus upon you and your partner as you express your vows to each other before God. We strive to establish a relationship with each couple because you are special in God's eyes and in our eyes as well. It is not necessary for a wedding to be elaborate in order to be beautiful. The true beauty of the experience lies in the spirit and attitudes of those who take part. At Coon Rapids United Methodist Church, we believe that a wedding is not a social function, but a religious service of worship. As such, the music, floral decoration, ceremony, and movement of the wedding must be in keeping with the dignity and sacredness of worship. These guidelines are to insure that your wedding will be well planned and in keeping with accepted standards of sacred worship. All of the Coon Rapids United Methodist Church staff that is involved with weddings are professional and have many years experience assisting couples with their wedding plans. They are here to inform and assist with all plans as they relate to the church. Always feel free to ask questions.
Facilities Available: Sanctuary · Seats 400 comfortably for weddings · There are two additional seating sections to the left and right of the center two seating sections · Musical Instruments; Grand Piano, Organ, A/V sound etc. · Candelabra, Unity candle stand/holder and altar candles · 2 screens (optional) Wesley Hall (for Reception)· Accommodates approximately 175 seated · Kitchen facilities are available for use
There are dressing areas for the bridal party. Scheduling the Wedding: The following scheduling guideline is used for planning a wedding: · Call or visit CRUMC to get in touch with the Wedding Coordinator. She will take your date request and other information and check with the church office and Pastoral staff for availability. · When the date is approved, the Wedding Coordinator will contact the Bride and Groom. · No wedding dates are considered official until the deposit ($200.00) has been paid in the church office. · When the requested date becomes official, the wedding coordinator will be in contact with the bride and groom to proceed with planning. · Sunday weddings can be scheduled provided the ceremony occurs no earlier than 2:00 pm and must be approved by a Pastor. · Certain calendar days in the year are blocked out and cannot be scheduled for weddings or rehearsals. The above scheduling guidelines will be followed for ALL weddings at the church. Pastor/Ordained Minister · One of our Pastors, Senior Pastor or Associate Pastor, will perform the wedding ceremony service. You may request a particular CRUMC staff Pastor. Know that the date you choose may dictate which wedding coordinator/pastor will be involved in your ceremony. · An Ordained minister not on the CRUMC staff may perform a wedding service. Our Senior and Associate Pastors must approve bringing in your own minister. · Guest ministers will be extended a formal invitation from the CRUMC Senior Pastor. Pre-marital counseling with the Pastor is required at CRUMC. It is the responsibility of the couple to call and make these appointments. The wedding will not proceed unless this requirement is met.
