and you say yes,
“There is more than enough available food in this country to feed every hungry person.”

Matthew 25 at Coon Rapids UMC began in January of 2021 when Pastor Dianna called a volunteer to ask them to do a particular job. The volunteer responded by saying that what they really wanted to do was feed people like Spirit River’s Matthew 25 in Isanti, where people from Coon Rapids UMC had been volunteering monthly for over a year. Despite having a budget of zero dollars to begin with, the first Matthew 25 food distribution at Coon Rapids UMC happened just three months later in January of 2021, in the middle of a pandemic.
God has blessed this ministry of generosity with many donors, to include EveryMeal, the Farmers to Families food program, Bergin Fruit & Nut Company, Starbucks, Auntie Annie’s, Panera Bread, Cub Foods, a “food angel,” food rescue options, grants, and much more… and many dedicated volunteers.
At Coon Rapids High School, approximately 85 students are experiencing homelessness. Some are with a parent or family member, but some are totally on their own, living in cars, couch-hopping or just finding a safe place to sleep outside. They need help. If this catches your heart, please donate.
Spring 2022: Consultants needed! Matthew 25 is seeking individuals who have experience and knowledge about gardening to serve as consultants. The actual "work" of gardening is to be done by those who reserve a garden space. If this is something that sounds of interest to you, please contact Evelyn Nelson.
